Oktoberfest

Korang tahu apa OKTOBERFEST tu?...

Seperti biasa, aku nak cerita lah ke’inesen’an aku ni…. Aku betol2 tak tau.

Pagi tu, aku masuk ofis… GM aku terus bagitau aku.. (biasalah aku ni, boss kena awal dari aku, kalau tidak bukan aku pekerja dia)

“There is something for u, inside ur tray.  Keep it secret!!! Not everybody gets it”

Oklah inilah mende yang dalam tray aku tu haaa…

“Oktoberfest?? What's  thattttt?” Soal aku sambil berbisik.

“Haaahhhhhh…. U don’t know about Oktoberfest?!! U r a hotelier. U should knowwww..... vodonya engko!"

Kan dah mendapat tu....

Aku malas nak tunjuk vodo lelebih, aku pun tanya pakcik google.

Oktoberfest (German pronunciation: [ɔkˈtoːbɐˌfɛst]) is the world's largest Volksfest (beer festival and travelling funfair). Held annually inMunichBavariaGermany, it is a 16-day folk festival running from mid or late September to the first weekend in October, with more than 6 million people from around the world attending the event every year.

Korang dah tau ke?  Nampaknya aku sorang jer yang vodo.....huhuhu...

Patut le aku tak tau sebab tak pernah pun sambut kat hotel aku penah keje. Aku pun tak sambut sebab aku bukan peminum. Kan? Walaupun aku nampak bodo...tapik aku nampak baik jugak kan?

Cuma ada sedikit cerita yang buat aku nampak lebih vodo sebenarnya....

"Where should i hang this thing haaa..." itu soklan vodo aku sebenarnya..

"Why u want to hang? Suppose u have to makan that biscuit!" Boss aku dah sengih2 kerang busuk dia tu..

Laaaa... biskut ke?...aku ingat menatang yang gantung2 kat dinding buat perhiasan tu... Aku pun hidu2 beskut tu... ada bau kayu manis...

Kan.....

Terus tanya pakcik google lagi...camne nak buat biskut tu....aku dah copy masuk dalam folder resepi aku tu.

Jap aku tempek kat sini.

Oktoberfest Lebkuchen Hearts

  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 package Vanilla Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon of each: Ground Cloves, Allspice, Cardamom
  • 1 1/2 cups Almonds, finely ground
  • 2 tablespoons Candied Orange Peel (Orangeat), finely chopped
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons Candied Lemon Peel ((Zitronat), finely chopped
  • Zest from 1/2 Lemon
  • 2 cups All Purpose Flour (plus extra may be needed if the dough is too soft)
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder

For the Icing:
Egg whites from 3 Large Eggs (we recommend buying the pasturized egg whites from your local market to avoid any possible salmonella in raw eggs)
4 cups (16 oz) Powedered Sugar
Food Coloring (optional)

You will also need a large heart shaped cookie cutter.
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Mix eggs, sugar, and vanilla sugar until creamy.
  3. Mix in ground almonds, candied orange and lemon peels, all seasonsing, and lemon zest.
  4. Combine flour and baking powder. Add to the egg mixture and mix until a dough forms.
  5. Roll out dough to about the thickness of a finger. Using your cookie cutter, cut out heart shapes. Place on a greased (or lined with parchment paper) cookie sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely.
  6. To prepare the icing, add the egg whites to a mixing bowl. Using the whisk attachment on your mixer, begin beating eggs at medium speed until they become frothy. Add the powdered sugar and continue beating until blended. Increase the speed tp high and beat until the mixture is thick and shiny (about 3-4 minutes). If using food coloring, separate the icing into bowls - one bowl for each color. Add a few drips of color and stir into icing. Continue adding a drip or two at a time until you get the desired color.
  7. Decorate the Lebkuchen hearts with the icing. Use blue or white to create a border along the edge of the heart. For the center of the hearts, you can draw flowers, like daisies, red hearts, and a message, such as "Oktoberfest" or "Welcome." Allow the icing to dry completely. This may take a day or two, depending on how much humidity there is in the air.
  8. Note: If you want to use your Lebkuchen hearts as decoration and hang them, cut in two wholes into hearts before baking them. When you've decorated them and they had a chance to dry, string them with blue or white string/ribbon.

Tempek je tau.... nak buat tatau bila... Tapi mudah kot nak siap... setepek beso beskotnya...

Oklah... walopun aku nampak vodo... sebenarnya ramai yang kat luar sana pun taktau apa mende ni... kat tempat aku keje ni pun, aku wat survey...dlm 7 orang aku tanya.... sorang jer pun yang tau apa kejadah Oktoberfest ni.......
